Brackendale is located just North of Squamish, which is often refered to as the "Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada". The town is located in a unique area, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and Coast Range mountains, and boasts exceptional summer and winter outdoor recreational activities such as downhill biking, skiing, golf, kayaking, hiking, dirt biking, rafting, rock climbing, fishing, cross-country skiing and more!
The area also has great historical and geological attractions, including the West Coast Heritage Railway Park, Museum of Mining in Britannia Beach, Shannon Falls and the Stawamus Chief: a large granite monolith famous for rock climbing.
45 minutes drive North of Squamish is Whistler, the world famous ski resort, which will host the 2010 Winter Olympics. It is an exciting time for the town, with new attractions being constructed for the games.
