History Viking Village is 1km walking distance to L'Anse Aux Meadows National Historic Site and UNESCO World Heritage Site. About 100 years ago a group of sailers landed here on our shore known as Vikings or Nosemen. Also, NORSTEAD the reproduction of a Viking port of trade, Norstead was created to mark the 1,000th Anniversary of Leif Ericson's epic journey across the North Altantic, which represents the first European presence in the new world, where you will enjoy a complete viking experience. Meals A full hot breakfast is included with your stay, a menu to choose from, homemade bread baked fresh every day, where you can enjoy your toast topped with our delicious jams and jellies made from local berries.Other meals upon request: You won't want to miss our home cooked evening meal featuring local delicacies. Be sure to take advantage of this Newfoundland dining experience. Dinner is served at 7:00 pm and you can reserve when you confirm your accommodations OR before noon that day. Be sure to let us know if you have any allergies to food. Adventures You can take an Adventure boat tour from the dock at L'Anse Aux Meadows, where you can learn about the Vikings and explore the magnificent coastline of the northern tip of Newfoundland. Make sure you bring a camera and binoculars you may even spot Whales or Icebergs up close. Only minutes away there is an Art Gallery, Sea Kayaking, Wild Flower Tours, Carving, and a Craft store. Hay Cove is a small fishing community of 18 families, where you may get a chance to talk to some fishermen or enjoy a walk along our rugged shoreline. Hiking trails are located right at our doorstep, you may spot whales and iceburgs, or fishermen fishing. Rooms Viking Village Bed & Breakfast is a 4 STAR rating accommodation overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Selected rooms has patio doors and a balcony where you can relax and watch the sunrise/sunset and a breathtaking view and sound of the ocean and seabirds.
