The site is situated on Ten Acres of British Columbia's wilderness, where you can see the waters of Kootenay Lake on site, as well as the spectacular view of the Kokanee Glacier from the upper peak of the property.
The B&B with full bathroom amenities enhance the visit with lusciously period-styled tubs and sinks. Enhance your bathing with your choice of the various bath salts and oils offered. The Gardens have a Victorian atmosphere as well, with arbours, fountains, and benches to rest upon.
The KootenayLake can be viewed from the balcony that runs along the front of the house to a Gazebo on the corner Perfect for Breakfast in the Mornings when it is warm, completing the package of natural serenity that you may simply wish to sit and enjoy.

Great hiking trails are close-by for all levels of hikers, from trouble-free to the experienced. Victorian Rose offers a travel lunch for guests upon request to take with them on such jaunts to enjoy along the hike.
Within traveling distance of many other cities and towns, Victorian Rose has many sights to experience beyond her location. Victorian Rose is within walking distance of the longest free ferry ride in all of Canada, that travels into Balfour, with transit available into historical Nelson, BC.
Ainsworth is fifteen minutes down the lake from Balfour, with hot pools to soak in or fabulous caves to explore. Other Kootenay historical locations are further down the lake, such as Kaslo with the S.S. Moyie Paddle Wheeler to tour, or you can do a round trip up by Sandon, New Denver, then onto Silverton to experience the past of sliver mining.

There is a Public Boat Ramp just 2 minutes below Victorian Rose on Pilot Bay Road. Also on the right and left hand side of the Ferry Landing just below us there is a public beach, water socks recommended due to pebble beach.
There are also two Golf Courses in the area that cater to the experienced; Kokanee Springs Golf Course and the Balfour Course. For the amateurs there is a beautiful golf course within 15 minuets drive, in Riondel. It’s a Par 3 (9 hole golf course or 18 if you go around the back nine).
The Glasshouse is a 30 minutes drive down the lake road towards Creston. Local Artisans, within 10 minutes towards Crawford Bay down the lake road.
For Fine Dining, the Boccalino Restaurant is at service, with a great patio atmosphere and wonderful food. The Boccalino Restaurant is also within walking distance of the property. Vegetarian food is available at Fairy Treats.
If you wish for cold beverages and great meals just take a short jaunt onto the Ferry cross the Lake and a short walk to Dockers Pub who offers a wonderful pizza. If you need supplies while you’re at the cottage, there is a grocery store in Riondel. The Gray Creek and Crawford Bay Store which are both within a 15-minute drive.
Visit Historic Nelson across the Ferry, or go the other direction and visit Ainsworth Hot Springs nestled inside the caves. Continue along to Kaslo and the S.S. Moyie, the Paddle Wheeler, and don’t forget to wander around the town of Riondel and Kaslo as it’s something to see and enjoy thoroughly. Visiting the Historic silver and gold mines of Sandor, Nakusp and Silverton is an excellent day trip and worth the look if it peaks your interest.
There are many hiking trails close by for the experienced and amateurs at heart.
Easy trails, such as the Waterfront Trail in Riondel which is (one to three hours) This simple 1.5 km trail follows the shoreline at the west side of the North Bay Beach Campground in Riondel; Or experience the trail that leads around the Pilot Bay Lighthouse area (one to two hours) which is near Kootenay Bay, 4.5 km.
There are also Moderate trails around Pilot Peninsula, have been created and managed by local hikers at Crawford Bay.
Also you can enjoy some difficult trails for the more experienced hiker at places like Haystack Mountain near Sanca Creek Forest Service Road; Lockhart Creek Trail (full day trip to 2 days return to Baker Lake) 15 k near Boswell; or even the Plaid Lake Trail & Mount Crawford which are near the summit of Crawford Mountain (full day).
