Surrounded by 5 giant blue spruce trees in historic Lander, the Blue Spruce Inn is within easy walking distance of downtown and city parks. Built by a wealthy sheep rancher in 1919, it is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Large comfortable rooms remind you of a visit to Grandma's house. The front veranda has a porch swing just waiting to be enjoyed. To start your day a sumptuous full breakfast will delight you as you discover some of the recipes collected by your hosts. Sip coffee or tea in the evening on the porch swing or in the sunroom at a bistro table. Throughout the Inn, magnificent oak crown molding and woodwork prevail as outstanding examples of the Arts and Crafts period of the early 20th Century. Stained and beveled glass in windows and in the breakfront of the dining room are also very typical of that era as well as beautiful oak floors laid in a unique design rarely seen. During your stay relax while wandering through beautiful flower gardens, play in the recreation room that includes a pool table, dart board and wet bar, in the evening watch a deer herd as they wander about town, cast a fishing line in a mountain stream one block from the front porch or fish for trout in world class fly fishing streams in the nearby mountains. What's unique about Lander, Wyoming that might cause you to stay an extra day and look around: Eagle Bronze Foundry - The only bronze foundry in Wyoming and it has daily tours that are fascinating. There are many bronze statuary pieces around town on permanent and temporary display. Sinks Canyon State Park - Where the Popo Agie River disappears into a big cave and reappears one half mile down the canyon. Wind River Indian Reservation - The only American Indian Reservation in Wyoming. The reservation has the Chief Washakie Hot Springs, the grave site of Sacajawea and 4 separate museums and cultural sites open to visitors. There are several galleries and Indian craft stores in town to whet your interest. Wildlife, mountain and desert beauty abound all around Lander.

Accommodations: The second floor has three large bedrooms, each with a private bath. The Willow Room with Civil War decor and queen bed, the Spotted Elk Room featuring Native American decor and queen bed and the Brass Room with old and new brass with twin beds. A large sitting area contains a small library for guests' use. On the garden basement level the Floral Room is a very large, bright and airy room with a floral decor, queen bed and private bath. The Floral Room is the only room with it's own TV set. All rooms are decorated with objects gathered during the hosts' global travels in the Air Force. Free Wireless Internet Access Available: Broadband Internet access is available for your laptop computer. Notebook adapter is available if needed
