The Wilderness Inn is snuggled within the White Mountain National Forest, five miles south of Franconia Notch State Park in the quaint New England town of North Woodstock, New Hampshire. Built in 1912 as a lumbermill owner's home, the inn still has a country house atmosphere that welcomes guests to this "neck of the woods". All seven bedrooms and suites, each with a private bath, as well as the "honeymoon" cottage overlooking Lost River, are smoke free, individually decorated, and feature photographs and articles of a foreign country. Each room has individually controlled heat and cable television, and the five second floor rooms are centrally air-conditioned in summer. The Inn's living room has a large working fireplace, the perfect place to savor a cup of hot, mulled cider after a day of skiing. The bright front porch is a welcoming spot to enjoy a cold glass of lemonade in the summer.
