The Sheeley House Bed & Breakfast
6 Fairview Avenue
High Falls, New York

Once home to our six lively children in the 1970s and 80s, this wonderful brick house was originally home to Isaac Hasbrouck in the 1830s until his death in 1852. The house was then owned and occupied by relatives until it was sold in 1882 to an attorney, Mr. Alvah Newcomb. It is reported that Mr. Newcomb made extensive renovations to the "old brick house", including a very large and beautiful addition, predicting that "when all work thereon is completed it will be one of the finest residences in this village." (May 3rd 1883 The Kingston Journal and Weekly Freeman) If you find this interesting you can learn more during your stay with us. Now, with a lot more to tell about and well over a century later, the Sheeleys have made extensive renovations to the "old brick house" and we believe that our guests will consider it a fine place to stay! The Sheeley House cannot be defined by any one style or period. Although it is a blend of several styles and tastes it does still capture much of the dignity and interest of Mr. Newcomb's time and while this house is indeed stately and elegant, we hope our guests will find it comfortable and welcoming. We think our house is most beautiful when people are here to enjoy it.
