The Doctor's House was built in the early 1900's by a sea merchant in the community which was then known as Birchy Cove, this is now the Curling area of the city of Corner Brook. It is located in the beautiful Bay of Islands on the scenic west coast of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It was initially known as the Barry house and was then owned for many years by Dr. Murray, who was a prominent doctor who practiced in the area. This 3 star bed and breakfast stills offers the charm, history and beautiful architecture of years gone by. It has a huge library and reading room that over looks the Bay of Islands. The bed and breakfast offers a twin bedded room (the Tulip Room), one with a queen size bed (the Rose Room) and the other with a king (the Fern Room). A full breakfast is provided in the morning and our rates are more than reasonable. After a days travels there is no better place to relax then in our living room or watch television in our den before retiring for a great evening sleep in one of our comfortable bedrooms. We are just a short distance from the downtown area of Corner Brook, Gros Morne National Park, Marble Mountain Ski Resort and many other parks, golf courses, walking trails and other natural areas. The Doctor's House is a beautiful three story house that was originally built by a sea merchant in the early 1930. It was then owned by Dr Murray who was a prominent doctor in Corner Brook and the surrounding areas for many years. The house has undergone very few design changes over the years leaving it rich in the architecture from the period. This is prevalent in beautiful library, the loft over looking the Bay of Islands and even the servant back stairway. At The Doctor's House we strive to ensure a comfortable stay for both the business person and tourist alike. We are a fully equipped 3½ star facility and can provide excellent accommodations in of our three rooms. Each room is non-smoking and is equipped with a telephone, hairdryer and clock radio. All rooms are nicely decorated and provide comfortable sleeping arrangements as well as having a private bath. We also provide Satellite TV and A VCR in the Den as well as high speed internet , fax and photo copying services. Guests also have access to a washer and dryer as well as an iron and ironing board.
