Other Historical Society Memberships
We are located 17 km West of the St Joseph's historical Park, dedicated to the memory of father Andre. This park features a historical walkway with informative bi-lingual plaques situated by pleasantly shaded benches. It is located about 1/3 km South of the St Joseph's Historical Archives. The latter contain the collection of Napoleon Cantin, the grandson of Narcisse Cantin, aka the "Wizard of St Joseph". Our library includes further information and books on the early settlers of the area, including the families of the small French-speaking settlement in and around St. Joseph.
A play by Paul Ciufo about the interesting life of Narcisse Cantin is currently 'in the works', to be performed at the Blyth Festival Theatre in the near future.
