Stewart House Inn is truly the stuff of dreams. I had wanted to own and operate my own small hotel for many years, and while the dream was always there, the realities of a busy life managing hotels kept me away from pursuing something so personal and all consuming. I am extremely fortunate in having Lynn, my spouse, as a true partner, and it has been with her strength and support that the dream has become reality.
Both of us are career oriented - I in the hospitality industry and Lynn in banking. We moved frequently cross country and internationally as we juggled events shaping our lives. We have no children, although our two seven year old miniature schnauzers, Essex and York, are good substitutes.
We discovered Stewart House, operating as Woods Villa, in the early summer of 2004. It had a unique presence - the house was filled with a wonderful private collection of antique musical instruments. Lynn and I loved the estate and the care that had so obviously been put into the home over the years, and we became Innkeepers.
Today I manage the property, complemented by the culinary talent of my sister, Mary, while Lynn divides her time between Toronto and Stratford.
The dream was always to create something personal yet very special for each guest. We wanted to ensure that each guest experience was tailored to meet their individual needs. To that end, we designed and decorated each room in a different style offering a broad range of amenities which enhance but do not intrude on the guest experience.
The many wonderful comments we have received from our guests tell us that our decision to become Innkeepers was the right one, and we look forward to continuing this great adventure.
