StarGazers Inn & Observatory is a casually elegant Bed & Breakfast Inn offering a unique viewpoint of the stars unparalleled by any other Southern California B&B. Situated at an elevation of 6800 feet, stargazing under crystalline skies is combined with the amenities and luxuries that discriminating guest have come to expect. Join other guests as our Star Guide takes you on a "star search" and discover the birthplace of stars from the inn's private observatory. Open year around, each stargazing opportunity is uniquely different and presents a wide range of objects to see. Start your romantic getaway with a refreshing dip in the inn's beautiful indoor heated swimming pool . No factory generated chlorine is used. Sanitized by a saline system, the salt produces crystal clear, silky soft water that does not irritate the skin or eyes. Later relax in the steam and dry sauna . In the game room, you may want to challenge your partner or other guest to a game of billiards or darts , sing karaoke , or play ping-pong on the patio. Or you may choose to enjoy the warmth of the fireplace in the living room or library as you read, watch TV or videos , or play cards or board games. If you are musically inclined you may enjoy playing the inn's small electronic baby grand piano. (Headphones available for those who don't play so well). Free internet and wireless internet are also available. During Happy Hour, enjoy light appetizers with wine or beer with other guest. Three outdoor decks offer great views of the night skies and the surrounding mountains and area wildlife.

Big Bear Lake is a year round resort located in the San Bernardino Mountains in Southern California. Average daytime temperature in the summer is 72 degrees. Big Bear Lake's 22 miles of shoreline is lined with huge boulders and juniper and pine trees. Lake Activities Swimming, boating, sailboarding, water skiing, jet skiing, and fishing for bass, trout, and catfish. Fisherman and walkers enjoy the walkway along shoreline of the Stanfield Marsh Nature Preserve. In the Winter Snow Summit and Big Bear Mountains offer some to the best skiing and snowboarding in Southern California. When the snow is gone, the winter's ski trails become mountain bike trails. The Discovery Center Features interpretive and educational programs by staff naturalists. Moonridge Animal Park is home to the only grizzlies still in Big Bear. Golfers may play 9 holes at the Big Bear Mountain Golf Course. Astronomers photograph solar flares and sunspots from the Big Bear Solar Observatory which sits on the causeway off the North Shore. During the summer, tours are available to the public. Village and Moonridge Shopping Provides a wide assortment of unique gifts representing the area. There are also many antique stores to delight antiques lovers. Big Bear dining offers plenty of great restaurants including two on the lake, as well as most of the popular fast food chains.
