Circa 1700's restored fieldstone farmhouse nestled in heart of historic Spring House, Montgomery Co., Pa. Spring House is so called because of copious springs bubbling forth, no more than a stone's throw away. The great Minsi trail, a major trading and communication conduit among Mohawk, Iroquois and Lenape villages, wound southward out of the Pocono Mountains eventually passing through Spring House. The site was also an important intersection, as was "Maxatawney Trail." The Europeans would later call it, "The Great Road" and ultimately, "Sumneytown Pike." Spring House was a stagecoach stop in the 1700's. The Spring House Tavern, built in 1717 provides fine dining and is directly across the street from the Spring House Bed and Breakfast. The sycamore tree next to the house is one of the oldest trees in Montgomery County, if not the oldest. The tree is believed to be over 300 years old.
