This Italian/Queen Anne Renaissance home was built in 1899. It has been renovated into a special place for you to enjoy. It features hand painted ceilings, stained glass windows, and magnificent inlaid & carved woodwork. It has four guestrooms completely furnished with antique furniture of the era. Each room has a private bath and air-conditioning with individual room control. There are many sitting rooms to enjoy. A Music Room complete with player piano and many musical instruments is available to the guests. A complete breakfast is served in the mornings including the world famous 0&H Danish Kringle from Wisconsin. In the summer months enjoy the lovely curved verandah with many comfortable wicker lounge chairs and rockers to relax upon while you step back into history as you watch an occasional Amish Buggy pass by. In the cooler months enjoy the artistic grandeur of the hand-crafted antique mosaic tile fireplace. Your hosts endeavor to make their guests as comfortable as possible therefore smoking is permitted on the verandah only. Alcohol and drugs also are not permitted on the premises. Your hosts Ron and Doris Blue purchased this home in 1988, and have continued to renovate and remodel to further enhance the property in keeping with the era and comfort of their guests. The home is located in an area that has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places; this area contains some of the grandest architecture to be seen. The Ligonier area has many items of interest to offer such as a Historical Museum, Visitors Center & Radio Museum, delightful Jenny Thompson Gardens, A new Grand Street Emporium, Kreps bakery famous for their special Pecan Rolls & breads. In addition we have authentic Mexican bakeries and stores, as well as Ethiopian cuisine. Within minutes of the Solomon Mier Manor are many other points of interest for visitors such as: Antique Shops, Black Pine Animal Park, Albion, Shipshewana Flea Market, Auburn Cord Dusenburg Museum, The Old Bag Factory, Chain O'Lakes State Park Albion, Augusta Hills Golf Course and Stone's Trace Museum.
