The Currie’s two story farmhouse was built in 1892 and remodeled in 1948. The wood throughout the house was the first delivered to the Jamieson Brothers lumberyard (Poynette) after World War II. Because materials were hard to come by, the house was finished with not just one type of wood, but four: beech, birch, maple, and oak.
Visitors enter into a built in porch/music room with a Hammond organ and other instruments available for use. Next, a family room welcomes weary travelers to sit, relax, and take in the friendly, fun fifties atmosphere around them. An attached meeting room offers an area to discuss the day’s adventures or business plans.
The large kitchen area is furnished with 1950’s tables, appliances, and dinnerware. Guests can take advantage of an optional full farm country breakfast and will find the refrigerator stocked with complimentary snacks and drinks.
The host’s room and office is located just off the kitchen, as is a separate full bath also available to guests.
Upstairs, guests can choose from four themed bedrooms:
Room #1: Movie Stars and Cinema featuring stars and movies of the 1950's era. Room #2: Greatest Love Stories featuring a private porch and memorabilia from hollywood's greatest couples like Bogie and Becall and Hepburn and Tracy. Room #3: Fashion and Music features the best of 1950's culture. Room #4: Vintage Cars and Tractors featuring photos, models, advertisements, and memoribilia of antique 1950's tractors and cars. Also upstairs, guests will find a separate half bath and a full bath featuring an upscale comfort spa accented with marble and glass block.
