The historically prominent c.1714 Pennsbury Inn is a Brandywine Valley Bed and Breakfast inn." On acreage purchased from Wm. Penn's Commissioners in the 17th Century, Pennsbury Inn's original dwelling house, erected in 1714 of Brandywine Blue Granite rubble stone, was enlarged mid-century by a stone addition of surpassing proportions with the front facade clad in hand-molded Flemish Bond brick. A 19th Century clapboard extension housed both coachman quarters and beehive bake oven. A 20th Century addition contains a garden view dining area. This Chadds Ford PA Bed and Breakfast Inn proudly presents a blend of colonial heritage and country elegance. It is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places. There are many things to do and see within the immediate vicinity of the inn (5-10 minutes drive) including the: Brandywine River Museum - Wyeth art, Brandywine Nature walk, etc.; Winterthur Museum, Gardens & Library - An American Country Estate; antiques and gardens.
