Moka & Pyjama in detail
There are places that no photograph can represent adequately and no word can do justice. Moka & Pyjama is just such a place where everything has been put in place to make your stay an unforgettable experience.
In the village of Saint-Irénée, a lightly travelled road takes you up to the property which is perched high on a mountainside. Everything looks so appealing: two terraces, intimate nooks, a huge rock garden, a wooded area bordered by a brook and, of course, the stunning view of the St. Lawrence river and the village.
You notice a beautiful, architecturally designed home built specifically to serve as a high quality B&B. It has also been adapted to enable handicapped persons to move about and enjoy their stay in full comfort. With a smile, your hosts greet you at the door and show you into a large living room filled with fascinating works of art. Sofas and chairs are arranged so you can enjoy the view, read a book in a quiet corner or warm up in front of the roaring fireplace.
A tour of the guest rooms reveals that each has a private bathroom, fireplace, ceiling fan, satellite TV, DVD/VHS player and a living area where you can have breakfast (yes, breakfast is served in your room if you wish). Regardless of where you rest your gaze, the décor is striking! The Nougat room is also equipped with a second bed to accommodate a third person and a private balcony. All of the rooms offer a constantly changing view of the village and the river which is 15 miles wide at this level.
Finally, you need only exchange a few words with your hosts, Dominique Lavigueur and Robert Chiasson, to realize that they are refreshingly gracious and tactful. They clearly master the art of being available when needed and out of the way when their guests seek intimacy, which surely explains why they have won several awards of excellence and have been the subject of glowing articles in numerous publications. And how about their legendary, three-course breakfasts which change every day!
For your information, we are the proud owners of a small spaniel (cavalier) whose name is Coqui. He loves receiving company and will shower you with affection. For reasons of health and comfort, smoking is not permited on the premises.
To sum it up, discovering Moka & Pyjama means never wanting to leave.
