Lodgecliffe on the Choptank B & B
103 Choptank Terrace
Cambridge, Maryland

This fine Cambridge inn is one of the Eastern Shore's friendliest B & B's with a beautiful view! A gracious turn of the century country home, it is charmingly perched on a bluff overlooking the wide expanse of the lower Choptank River, the setting for James Michener's book, Chesapeake . From Lodgecliffe, guests can sit on the back deck sipping their morning coffee and watch the watermen fill their boats with colorful blue crabs in the summer. During winter, guests can sit inside the elegant dining room and see them hauling up oysters. Walk up the front porch with its white country wicker furnishings perfect for sipping a glass of lemonade and into the gorgeous yellow floral living room with grand stairway. You can see straight out the back of the house to the breathtaking views of the river. The large formal dining room is filled with an eclectic mix of antiques and newly acquired pieces to lend an old world feel but also pamper guests with modern amenities at the same time. The living room opens out to an enclosed porch area where guests can opt to dine in the fresh air if they so desire. Another fully enclosed sun porch located along the hallway to the downstairs bedrooms permits a stunning view of the river in any weather from cozy white wicker furnishings.
