Swan House B&B
6840 Crooked Tree Drive
Anchorage, Alaska

Swan House Bed & Breakfast is an original work of art and sits in a quiet Hillside neighborhood, overlooking the city of Anchorage, with Mt. McKinley as a backdrop. Swan House is chosen "one of the best places to stay in Anchorage" and titled "a trophy home" by Travel & Leisure Magazine. The B & B has also been written up in the reknown Fodor's America's Best Bed & Breakfasts, 3rd Edition, and Alaska's Best Places. The most unique thing about the house is that is designed to resemble a swan in flight, with wings on two sides. The swan motif is repeated throughout, with an inlaid jade panel of swans over the black walnut and Corian fireplace mantle. There are 127 windows in different geometrical shapes, along with a 16 foot long bridge that runs through the living area. There are over 160 lights on the inside of the home and 58 on the outside, including theatrical lights on all the stairs and 240 feet of track lighting. The exterior is all heartwood redwood; inside, light oak predominates. The floors are hardwood oak planking and frame the main room's raspberry carpet. Swan House is decorated completely with one of the largest private collections of antiques in the state. The "Bavarian" guest room has a king bed that was custom made from antique twin beds that are signed and dated 1860 with inlaid rosewood, walnut and cherry wood. The "American Country" guest room has a queen size antique pine replica bed with early accents. Both guest rooms have private baths.
