If you like quaint historic towns, festivals, and an old fashioned town square with a park, fountain, and bell, you will feel at home in Abbeville, South Carolina. Abbeville is also known for its lovely 'Opera House' with its seasonal plays. The Opera House is on the 'National Historic Register' as are several other buildings - all within a short walking distance from my 'arts and crafts' style 'B&B' (built in 1915).
Within a twenty minute drive, you are in either a National Forest, a State Park or at one of our large lakes of our 'Sweetwater Coast'. You can fish, boat, swim, hike or tour the hilly, pastured area with its sleepy towns. It is excellent for your bicycle trips too! Hunting and golfing can be another way to spend your time! Eclectic shops and restaurants for every taste and budget surround the center of downtown, and you will find some beautiful old churches.
