Decorated in period antiques and evoking the themes of European influence and French Country décor, the inn is luxurious getaway.The Inn takes its name from the Twaalfskill creek, a brook that meanders in front of the property. The rambling acreage features perennial gardens, century-old oak trees and a serene porch facing the Twaalfskill. The gentle sound of the Twaalfskill will lull guests to sleep. Antique shops for browsing, fine restaurants for dining, and country roads for biking are all just outside the door.The Inn at Twaalfskill was constructed in 1902 as the home of Harcourt Pratt, a local businessman and representative in the United States Congress. After Mr. Pratt’s death in 1934, the structure became the home of a local family. In 2004, innkeepers Nancy and Eric Norberg, with ties to Highland, purchased the home with the goal of converting it to a country inn. In 2005, the building underwent major reconstruction, modernizing the kitchen, plumbing, and key building systems. At the same time, the inn was given cosmetic overhaul as well. The public rooms and guest rooms were attentively decorated in a rich, warm style evocative of European and French country influence.Located in Highland, New York, The Inn at Twaalfskill is an 90-minute drive from New York City and Major New York Airports. The inn is 25 miles from Newburgh, New York and Stewart Airport.
