Situated in rural, central New Hampshire, The Inn at Danbury is a rambling country inn providing a home base of relaxation and cordiality combined with an abundance of four-season local activities. The town of Danbury itself has been acclaimed by poet Donald Hall in his book, Here at Eagle Pond as well as other publications. The inn has evolved from its original roadside farmhouse built in 1850 into its present comfortable facility with rooms ranging from romantic suites with balconies to family accommodations. The Inn at Danbury offers a four-season array of activities ranging from world-renowned fall foliage, to the long-standing popularity of Ragged Mountain Ski Resort (5 min. away), to the newly created par-72 golf course, also at the base of the mountain.
There is plenty to do in this centrally located town in New Hampshire. In the summer Ragged Mountain Resort has a 72 par golf course for your sporting enjoyment. Hike Mount Kearsage, at Winslow State Park, or Mount Cardigan in Canaan. Listen to the water as it runs over the Sculptured Rocks in the Groton and Hebron area on the north end of Newfound Lake. While there, visit the Polar Caves in Plymouth, or go rock climbing at the Rock Climbing Barn. Be sure to stop at the many antique stores in the area while you are on your way to see the famous covered bridges in New Hampshire. You might even want to spend a little time picking fresh blueberries at a farm just 5 minutes from our Inn. The Danbury Bog has lots of wild life viewing, you can bring your canoe or kayak, get up before the crack of dawn, and enjoy a most peaceful sunrise on the water. Maybe you'd prefer to bring your bicycle and ride on the many country roads and hills in our area. Don't forget to make a stop at Ruggles Mine in Grafton.
Or how about a visit to the famous lakes region. Lake Winnipesaukee and Weirs Beach is only 27 Miles from the Inn. You can enjoy a boat ride on the famous Mount Washington or walk along the boulevard at Weirs Beach. If you bring the kids there is plenty to do at Fun Spot year round. Or how about visiting the Lake Sunapee area, just 40 minutes to the west of our Inn. In the summer Lake Sunapee has both cruise and dinner boat rides, as well as many shops to enjoy.
In the winter you can ski at Ragged Mountain Resort, only 5 miles from our bed and breakfast. Or Tenney Mountain, only 26 minutes away, Mount Sunapee is about 40 minutes from the Inn. Cross country skiing is also available here on our property or in New London at the Norsk Center. There is a snow mobile trail that runs all the way up from the corner of Routes 4 and 104 to Lebanon and Hanover.
As you can see, a visit to our New Hampshire Inn will keep you entertained for days and, after all, we are only 90 minutes from Boston.
Hop in the car and drive up. We will welcome you when you arrive.
