The Inn at Buckeystown, a four star National Award Winner for food, ambiance, and hospitality, is a Victorian Village Inn opened in 1981 to provide bed, board and luxury to the traveler. The Inn occupies an 1897 mansion in a Nationally Registered Historic Village with pre-revolutionary roots and a strong Civil War influence. The village is nearby to Monocacy River and is surrounded by historic sites, many Federal and Victorian homes, monuments and markets, Civil War battlefields, The Frederick Keys (Oriole's Affiliate team), and Francis Scott Key's birthplace, in nearby Frederick. The Inn at Buckeystown offers five guest rooms with private baths and more guestrooms with shared facilities, all in the Victorian style of luxury with modern amenities that give comfort in the classic & truly refined tastes of the Victorian era.
All of the public areas as well as many of the sleeping rooms have magnificent chandeliers, and there are three working fireplaces to add romance and style. The wrap around porch provides chairs and vistas to while away the time. The gardens fall foliage and spring blossoms are annual highlights, as in the month long Christmas festival. The food here is superb, running the gamut of cuisines, ingredients and presentations. Serviced on Victorian china with period silverware and glassware, meals are treated as "special occasions" and are accompanied by spirited conversation. All holidays are celebrated with festive foods and decorations suited to the occasion. So come in your best frock and be prepared to be taken back to a place in time when dinner was truly a memorable experience, for the mind, the soul, and the palette. The Inn remains a BYOB establishment for all alcoholic libations.
