The house was believed to be built in 1810, perhaps as early as the 1780's. Somewhere between 1850 & 1870, the house was jacked, a 3rd floor added underneath, & beautiful Italianate features such as fancy corbels & bay windows were added. The house was passed from generation to generation of Hodgdon's, whose name in synonymous in these parts with early settlement, boat building, sea captains & seafaring.
