The Hillsdale House was built in 1859 by Susan Foster as an Inn and has catered to many famous people including King George V, Lord Tweedsmuir (Governor General of Canada) and MacKenzie King, former Prime Minister of Canada; and to this day the tradition continues.
Our 13 guest rooms are all individually decorated with antiques, many with 4 poster beds and all have private ensuite baths. Relax in one of our 3 parlors, all beautifully appointed with mid Victorian period antiques. The Hillsdale House is set on 12 acres of land with mature trees, manicured lawns, and fine gardens. Stroll around the grounds then leisurely watch the sunset from one of our two comfortable verandahs. Treat yourself in the morning to freshly ground coffee, and a full cooked breakfast, including Hillsdale's homemade breads and jams. Breakfast is served between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. in our elegant dining room.
