Heaven's Haven is no exception to this rule and is located in a former ski lodge built in the early 1960's. At that time it was called Sawmill Hill, and was operated by a steam engine! You can still see the slopes of Berkshire East off in the distance. This steam engine operated a saw mill by day but was ingeniously rigged up to drive a home made T-bar lift in the evening or on weekends after the sawmill closed for the day. Heaven's Haven has the distinction of being the site of the only stream driven sawmill and ski lift in the country! Nothing like a little bit of history and Yankee ingenuity. Barbara Harris is your hostess and she is ably assisted by her eldest daughter Tonna. Together they look after your needs in a gentle home.
