Headwater is our home on the banks of the Yellowstone River, 3 miles north of Gardiner, Montana, the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park. We have owned the property since 1969 and have both lived and worked in Yellowstone. We are always ready to share our love and knowledge of the area.
The guest room views of 10,992-foot high Electric Peak and the northern range of Yellowstone are breathtaking any time of the year. The sound of the Yellowstone River outside your window is a relaxing accompaniment to the dramatic view.
Many animals, including elk, deer and an occasional bear or bison wander through our property. A wide variety of birds make their nests in the cottonwood trees along the riverbank. We have counted 25 different bird species perched on our deck or flying through the area.
Family and friends alike have experienced special times together as they meet - renting the entire facility and making wonderful memories. Gathering on the patio to visit after a day of touring the park; all ages enjoyed horseshoe tournaments and lawn games into the cool summer evening.
Headwaters provides a relaxed atmosphere and a quiet place for you to call home during your visit. It is our hope that your visit here can bring you the sense of wonder that has drawn our family to this special place called YELLOWSTONE.
