The Glenwood Mill Bed & Breakfast traces its' history to 1794 when Stephen Bailey purchased 53 acres froim the Earl of Perth and built the first gristmill. The second mill was built on the current site in 1805, rebuilt in 1810 and remodeled in 1887 by Captain Bailey, a Civil War veteran. It ceased operations during 1919. Dan & Ethel Van Duzer (grandson of Captain Bailey) occupied the mill from 1941 to 1989. It was left vacant until Hank & Sue Capro purchased the mill in 1998 and planned to convert it into a bed and breakfast. It took 2-1/2 years to renovate the 5,000 sq. ft. structure and reclaim its' 4 acres (including an 18-foot waterfall). The mill has two guest rooms and two suites, each with a gas fireplace and bubble jet tub. Hank and Sue also make the mill their home. They hope the mill and its artifacts will survive another 200 yrs. reflecting its unique American history.
