In 1640, the King of France gives to the Sulpiciens a seigniory in Nouvelle France. They will have to divide it in lots between the pioneers to do the spadework on it.
This seigniory is border by the St-Lawrence Rivernear Montréal east, who at that time was named Comté of Leinster. In 1852 a part of that seigniorybecame the St-Liguori Parish.
The first of July 1855, the municipality of the St-Alphonse de Liguori parish was funded and June the tenth 1961, its name became St-Liguori.
