George Clarke House Bed and Breakfast in Lexington, Kentucky has been lovingly restored to its former 1890 Victorian grandeur. This Bed and Breakfast is centrally located in a quiet downtown residential historic district. It is an easy walk to theaters, art galleries, restaurants, shops, cultural and sporting events.
Pass through the front door of George Clarke House Bed and Breakfast and you are transported to a time and place you’ll want to visit again and again. You’re in the home of an upper class 1890 family, where you are graciously welcomed by your hostess. The rooms are cast in the amber glow of gaslights, highlighting the fine antique furnishings, elegant lamps and chandeliers, and magnificent period wall coverings.
Each morning your hostess, often dressed in Victorian costume, will greet you and show you to an elegantly set table. Breakfasts are sumptuous affairs, as they were in George's time. Delicacies such as creme brulee' French toast, or waffles with Grand Marnier strawberries, are served on delicate china with gleaming silver and sparkling crystal. Jeeves the butler will be in service most weekends.
