Pass through the front door of George Clarke House Bed and Breakfast and you are transported to a time and place you’ll want to visit again and again. You’re in the home of an upper class 1890 family, where you are graciously welcomed by your hostess. The rooms are cast in the amber glow of gaslights, highlighting the fine antique furnishings, elegant lamps and chandeliers, and magnificent period wall coverings. Each morning your hostess, often dressed in Victorian costume, will greet you and show you to an elegantly set table. Breakfasts are sumptuous affairs, as they were in George's time. Delicacies such as creme brulee' French toast, or waffles with Grand Marnier strawberries, are served on delicate china with gleaming silver and sparkling crystal. Before retiring, you might want to call a friend on your private antique phone or partake of complimentary refreshments. When you are ready to settle in for the night, our turndown service will have prepared your bed, complete with our signature chocolate mice for your midnight nibbling pleasure.
