Innkeepers, Stefan and Claudia Wessel, purchased Falls Village Inn in the summer of 2003 and immediately began restoring the building to its original 1834 grandeur. Claudia, whose background is in the hospitality industry and Stefan who has remodeled many a home have enjoyed bringing their inn back to life.
The dining room was the first room to be renovated. Wall to wall carpeting was removed to showcase the beautiful hardwood floors that lay dormant underneath, while period wallpaper and lighting finished off the look. The tavern was the next room to be updated. The Wessel's kept the original tin roof and bar while adding new furniture creating a very warm and old-fashioned environment for guests to linger.
Perhaps one of the most exciting changes to the front of the house is in the parlor. An antique front desk, beautiful hard wood flooring and period Toile wallpaper welcome the Inn's guests. This reception area is the original area used when the building first opened for business in the 1800's.
The inn hosts nineteen suites on two stories. Each room has a different feel to it. Many of the antiques used throughout the inn are from the Wessel's personal collection. You truly feel as if you are walking back in time.
