Nestled in the heart of Vermont's Champlain Valley, there is a lake that has been attracting summer vacationers since the 1950s. Located at the foot of the Green Mountains, Lake Dunmore is a paradise for the summer vacationer looking for a peaceful getaway with family, friends and nature.
Popular to campers looking to get away from it all but with the ease of home comforts, cabins along the lake provide a home-away-from home rental. Living on the shores of the three-mile lake is so popular that many locals have taken residence by the calm waterway and now live there year-round.
Dunmore Acres keeps the tradition of family vacation alive as a rustic resort on those shores with nine furnished housekeeping cabins, a large recreation hall, an in-ground swimming pool. a beach for swimming and a dock for fishing and small boat launchings.
Hosts Neil & Kathy Mackey and Charles Goodrich offer weekly rentals throughout the summer with preseason and postseason rentals for family reunions, weddings and other special occasions.
In addition to the rentals, Dunmore Acres gives its guest full access to kayaks, canoes and a paddle boat for a leisurely trip around the lake or a day of fishing in the abundant waters. Cabins come fully equipped except linens and groceries. Dunmore has a crystal clear swimming pool, basketball and play area for younger children. The lake front consists of small beach area for swimming, dock for fishing and boats available. There is a large rec hall great for family gatherings or rainy day activities. Lots of biking, hiking, golf and shopping nearby.
