Situated in the Town of Queensbury in Upstate New York, Crislip's Bed & Breakfast is located midway between New York City and Montreal. Having been in operation since 1984, we are Queensbury's first Bed & Breakfast.
Adjacent to nearby Glens Falls can be found restaurants, antique shops, live theatre presentations, and the internationally acclaimed museum of fine arts, The Hyde Collection. Saratoga Springs, which boasts the country's oldest thoroughbred race course, is about 30 minutes south. Lake George, often called the most beautiful vacation spot in the northeast, is only 15 minutes to the north.
Dating from the latter part of the 18th century, this Quaker-built home is one of the area's oldest dwellings. The property was acquired by Queensbury's first physician, Asa Stower, who used the premises as a training center for young interns. Dr. Stower enlarged the house by adding the large front, ca 1806. The house maintained its Federal appearance until 1848, when it was given its Greek Revival details. The large Italianate veranda was added in the 1870's.
