"Finally, a place for lodging and good food that is not your typical B&B"
That is what one of our guests recently said after a long weekend with us. They felt we offered not only the usual amenities of a bed and breakfast, but also a place itself with a unique spirit. They came for a vacation to enjoy the many different opportunities of our area, but found themselves wanting to spend more time at our inn. Our guest felt a "warm and welcoming spirit here" (to use their words), and left with the sense of renewal to return to their busy life. Their parting words in our guestbook were:
"When I return, I'll be coming back not only to visit Maine but to also visit and be part of this special place, The Common Table."
The Common Table is open year round and offers meeting space, together with delicious meals for groups up to 20 people. Overnight accommodations with family style bathrooms are available for families, small groups, individuals and couples.
The Inn is perfect for family reunions, parties or any other special occasions. Weddings, receptions, barbeques, lobster bakes and other outdoor parties are available from June 1 to September 30.

Harpswell, Maine
Harpswell is a beautiful seacoast area with more coastline than any other town in the continental USA. Walking on a beach, boating, fishing, bicycling or taking a quiet walk are just a few things to do in the warmer Spring, Summer and Fall. During the Winter we have ice skating, sledding and snow shoeing in our own back yard. For ski enthusiasts there are numerous downhill and cross-country resorts nearby. There is always a cool sea breeze in the summer and a warm fire in the winter.
Harpswell is also well-known for its lobsters and delicious seafood. Both are available at many excellent nearby restaurants.
The Mid-Coast Maine Region
Within a short 30-minute drive, you can enjoy beautiful Popham Beach State Park, shop the outlets and L.L. Bean in Freeport, take in the cultural events at Bowdoin College, or walk around the quaint coastal towns of Bath or Wiscasset.
Portland is only 45 minutes from The Common Table. Its restored waterfront, cultural events, promenades, and excellent restaurants all offer more year-round reasons for a visit.
AND...within an hour's drive, you can enjoy Reid State Park, Boothbay Harbor, the state capitol in Augusta, and many outdoor settings for hikes or picnics.
BUT....when you are done with your travels, we guarantee you'll look forward to coming "home" to The Common Table for some good food and relaxation.
