Our inn is a beautifully restored Prairie School style home with a warm, welcoming, down-to-earth style. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a classic example of Prairie School Architecture. Overlooks Lake Mendota, Madison's largest lake. Six blocks from the Capitol, 8 blocks from downtown and State Street, and 1 mile from the University of Wisconsin campus. Five guest rooms, four of which overlook the lake. The decor in each reflects the historic theme in the room's chosen name. Entire first floor of common area, including lake-facing breakfast and sitting rooms, an oak library and dining room, and a large, elegant mahogany living room with large fireplace. Arts and crafts furnishings abound, including art glass in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright. Original stencil designs bedeck two rooms, one of which draws to mind Madison's stunning State Capitol.
