Located on 80 acres of the kettle moraine, Cold Spring Inn prides itself on protecting and restoring native woodland, wetland, and the beauty of the natural environment.
On arrival, guests travel a winding drive bordered by magnificent Norway spruce. A newly established vineyard spreads down to a fruit orchard.
The sprawling lannon stone wings of the building, enhanced by the attached professional greenhouse solarium, reflect the natural landscape in an elegant living space that everyone visiting can enjoy.
Two master suites located in the north wing are beautifully appointed with private fireplace and whirlpool baths. A common living area on the first floor of this wing provides a small kitchenette and private entrance that leads out to paved walkways and patios highlighted by a water garden stocked with fish and water plants.
A small putting green for golf enthusiast is available for warm- ups before a round of golf at one of the local golf courses in the area. A private tennis court and a fishing pond, including pier and rowboat, are available for guests to enjoy. If hiking and walking activities are desired, extensive private hiking trails and walking bridges over the Oconomowoc River are perfect routes for birding excursions and native plant and wildlife observation.
On chilly fall and cold winter days, a fieldstone fireplace is the focal point of the combined living-dinning and kitchen facilities located in the center of the inn. A third guest room with attached bath is also available for occupancy and is located near this family living area.
Each morning guests are greeted with a full breakfast that includes coffee, tea and fresh juices, a variety of cold cereals, muffins and seasonal fruit. In the evening, a wine and cheese reception awaits each guest in the grand room or our cozy greenhouse featuring lush plants and flowers.
Major attractions near this lake-country retreat include bird watching, golf, hiking trails, The Fox & Hounds and The Copper Dock Restaurants, the scenic roads leading up to Holy Hill, excellent for biking, horse back riding, boating and canoeing on neighboring Lake Five and Friess Lakes, the Ice Age Trail and Lowes Lake unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest.
