This South Vancouver Island B&B is centrally located in the Cowichan Valley wine region, just 45 minutes north of British Columbia's capital, Victoria. Centered around the City of Duncan, communities in the Valley include Cobble Hill, Mill Bay, Shawnigan Lake, Cowichan Bay and Chemainus. Eight vineyards are located throughout the Cowichan Valley, and just around the corner from Cobble House you will find Merridale Estate Cidery , with the largest cider apple orchard in BC dedicated to cider production. The South Cowichan region is also home to several private boarding schools. Cobble House is just minutes away from Brentwood College School and Shawnigan Lake School. Our one-level home is nestled in a 40-acre private forest, with a creek along one side. Enjoy the birds at their feeders, hear the owls at night, or catch a glimpse of deer, possibly elk and other wildlife. Wildlife viewing right from your own room! There are some trails on the property on which you can wander. Cobble House is a non-smoking home, but you are welcome to smoke outside, with care. Above all, we offer peace and quiet, a very relaxed atmosphere and warm hospitality.

Go north and visit the town of Duncan, with its Quw'utsun' Cultural and Conference Centre, showcasing the culture of the original native inhabitants, the Cowichan tribe, and the B.C. Forest Discovery Centre - forestry is traditionally British Columbia's main industry. Go a little further north and visit the town of Chemainus, famous for its outdoor murals, and home to a popular small theatre. In Crofton you can tour the pulp mill in summer time and take a short ferry trip to Saltspring Island, the largest of the Gulf Islands, which are located between mainland B.C. and Vancouver Island. Travel to Lake Cowichan and take the logging road to Port Renfrew to visit the Botanical Beach there and get a taste of the West Coast.
