Although the exact history is uncertain, it is estimated that the house was built in approximately 1880. It is documented that the first child was born within the home in 1882.

This 3,840 square foot Victorian style home combines classic beauty with modern technology. It features 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a dining room, and a soda shop complete with a full kitchen staff. A total of 46 customers of the soda shop can dine either inside, or the same number can enjoy the pleasant outdoors on the covered porch. Upstairs are 3 of the 4 guest bedrooms, as well as a small private patio that overlooks part of downtown Saint Matthews.
