Briarcliffe Inn is the perfect spot for those looking for a little solitude. Situated at the end of the road near the shore of Salutation Cove, you'll hear nothing but quiet. Many of our guests tell us they've never felt more relaxed, better fed or gotten such a sound sleep than at our 4 1/2 star bed and breakfast. Briarcliffe Inn was originally built in 1914 and was one of the first bed and breakfasts on the Island. Until the mid-50's, it was known as Briarcliffe Tourist Home and Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of Anne of Green Gables was a frequent visitor after teaching at the nearby Lower Bedeque School.

Anderson Suite Briarcliffe Inn has named all our rooms in memory and celebration of past owners. Donald and Marion McFarlane moved to Salutation Cove in 1799 and lived next to Alexander Anderson. Rate: $150.00 + taxes (2 persons) (Can accomodate 4). Leard Room Fedrica and Edwin MacFarlane were the original owners of Briarcliffe. Fedrica's maiden name was Leard so this room is named in her honour. Rate: $110.00 + taxes (2 people) MacFarlane Room The original owners of Briarcliffe were Edwin and Fedrica MacFarlane and this was their room for over 40 years. Rate: $125.00 + taxes (2 people) (Can accommodate 3) Mulligan Room Mary Alice Mulligan was the third owner of this wonderful house but because she lives out of province she never resided in the house on a full time bases visiting only in the summer. Rate: $100.00 + taxes (2 people) Sudbury Room In the early 1950's, Edwin and Fedrica retired and sold Briarcliffe. Over the next 40 years, it was home to three generations of the Sudbury Family. Rate: $110.00 + taxes (2 people)
