New Harbor, Maine

The Bradley Inn at Pemaquid Point was built as a wife's wish and a husband's final gift. Captain HC Bradley completed the Inn just before the turn of the century ~ a compromise for a wife tired of waiting for her husband's ship to come in. Now a charming old refuge rescued from salt & time with a tradition of graceful hospitality and quiet comfort. A place that stirs memories of summers long gone. Of quiet misty mornings interrupted by the peal of the bell buoy, drawing you past the gardens and rhugosa to sit quietly by the lighthouse. A rare spot Pemaquid, one which insists you scramble across a shoreline of toe snubbing granite, just to see how far you can see. In winter a place of ultimate solitude. Wild waters, steely and bone chillingly cold, lobster boats with engines churning hard against John's Bay. In winter the comfort of the elegantly appointed room and fine food which await you ~ piquant and so welcome. Positioned almost at the tip of the Pemaquid Peninsula the Bradley Inn lays just south of two perfectly beautiful working harbors. Fishing and Lobstering done here as it has always been done. A region steeped in history and tradition. A place of great natural beauty ~ of quiet fishing coves and deep lakes to canoe. Where sturdy old bicycles wait to be taken for a "spin" and picnics are packed for a day on Monhegan Island -an artist's paradise. Afternoons of croquet and Crazy Eights, napping on cool green lawn shadowed by dragonflies and monarch butterflies. This is a place everyone remembers although many have never been.
