Southwood Manor is surrounded by cotton fields and pecan groves, with a working cotton gin across the street and offers you the true flavor of the south. Hens are found on the gracious grounds while a horse or two nibble beyond in the paddock.

Area golf courses are nearby and fine shopping can be found in local surrounding towns as well as the beautiful town of Aiken, "the horse training capital of the South." You can enjoy polo at the winter playing fields, race horses at the training tracks or tour the Montmorenci Vineyards.
Mike, an aviation buff, can be frequently sighted grooming his 2000' air strip at the manor, (guests are encouraged to call ahead when wanting to fly in for a briefing). Judy, an artist, often can be spotted working on her latest creation. The manor features many of her original works of art, in the foyer gallery.
