The Marm Bailey Room is named after Mrs. Elizabeth Bailey who ran the Bailey House, along with her three daughters, as an aristocratic boarding house in the early to late-1800's. This large, bright room features a queen size pencil post bed, high quality linens and duvet, a three piece en-suite bath with shower, stunning views of the Annapolis Basin, and downtown Annapolis Royal. Original painted pine floors and a decorative, Georgian period fireplace add to the ambiance of the room. The furnishings reflect the simple style of the Shakers and reflect the way it may have been furnished during early days of the house. There is a comfortable stuffed chair for reading or relaxing, a table and chairs for playing games, and a small desk for writing. A large antique armoire and dresser complete the furnishings. The Joseph Totten Room Joseph Totten purchased the Bailey House in 1783. He was an influential British Loyalist who fled from the New York Colony with his family near the end of the American Revolution. This large and elegant room features a beautiful king size sleigh bed , high quality linens and duvet, a three piece bath with shower, and stunning views of the Annapolis Basin and Granville Ferry. Original painted pine floors, crown moldings, and a decorative period fireplace reflect the Georgian style, while the furnishings reflect the more elegant styling of the colonial period. A stuffed chair provides a comfortable reading space with an up-close and unobstructed view of the Annapolis Basin. A small table, and desk, provides a nice spot for writing or playing games. Period style dressers complete the furnishings and provide ample space for storage. Joseph Totten Room - Suite The Joseph Totten Room may be rented out in conjunction with the adjoining John Easson Room which makes for a great family suite. The John Easson Room features a queen size four poster bed with garden views. A pass through closet connects the two rooms and shares the bath with the Joseph Totten Room. Great for families and children.
