Framed by tall cedar and fir trees, resting on the south shore of Cormorant Island, you'll find our small lodge in Alert Bay, BC.
It is our pleasure to welcome you to Alert Bay Lodge and to the community of Alert Bay, BC. The village (pop. 1500) is the largest aboriginal community on the British Columbia coast. First Nations attractions include the U'Mista Cultural Centre, 'Namgis Burial Grounds, the Alert Bay Big House, the Big Tree Interpretive Trail and the world's tallest totem pole. First Nations crafts are sold in local shops and during the summer months ceremonial dancing is held at the Big House. Alert Bay Lodge was originally the United Church for Alert Bay. This legacy is reflected in the high arched cedar beams that frame the expansive common room and the former pulpit which now serves as our library. Here, you'll be able to connect with fellow guests, relax by the fire or peruse our local attraction desk. Amenities include a south facing sundeck overlooking Johnstone Strait, a woodstove, communal kitchen, kayak storage and Internet access.
The Lodge offers five rooms including two rooms designed to accommodate families. One family room is pet friendly and has its own entry. To avoid disappointment we encourage booking 30 days in advance in the period from early June to late September.
