Other Amenities Details

Refresh your mind and spirit with the soothing sounds of the river while immersed in the peacefulness of Alaska's wilderness. Distinguished by it's quietness, the Kasilof River has only drift boats gently floating down the river which means there isn't the noise from power boats that other Kenai lodging or Soldotna lodging options offer. Guests regulary enjoy the laid back lifestyle of the Kasilof River while sitting around the fire pit making friends and sharing fishing stories with eachother. Yet others find solitude on the viewing deck taking time to commune with nature. Whether you're visiting Alaska with family or friends you are sure to feel at home while experiencing the Kasilof River at Alaska Riverview Lodge.

Homer Spit, shopping, sight seeing, Salty Dog Bar (you might meet a fisherman from the Deadliest Catch), museums, gallery, Wildlife cruises, exit glacier (the only glacier you can walk to) and many other activites.

What to bring?

Along with bringing a spirit for adventure you will want to consider bringing the following to make your Alaska salmon fishing vacation enjoyable:

Picture ID for fishing license Rain Gear Boots, waders
Gloves Long underwear Bug repellent
Sunscreen Rugged outdoor wear Jacket
Camera Personal care items

The mornings and evening hours can get cool, it is usually a good idea to dress in layers, you can always take something off as it warms in the afternoon and put it back on as it cools. Good quality rain gear such as a gore tex two piece rain suit is highly recommended because it is light weight and doubles as a great windbreaker. You never know when it may rain, so be prepared. Good foot gear is also essential to keeping your feet dry on a rainy day. A good mix of synthetic fabrics as well as natural fabrics will help keep you comfortable in any weather scenario. Fly fisherman may want to consider light neoprene.
