No country roads or city streets - when traveling on Highway 200 just turn in at mile marker 232 and you are here! Midstate is a rural setting approximately 5 miles east of McClusky. Highway 200 is your ecomonmical thoroughfare across the Northern United States.
Midstate Bed & Breakfast is located on a third generation working farm that produces small grains and beef cattle. The landscaped yard has vegetable and flower gardens. The country surroundings and adult only household provide for privacy and quiet relaxation. Families with children are welcome.
Because you are staying in a central location numerous day trips can be planned. To name a few: The International Peace Gardens on the Canadian and U.S. border is near Dunseith. The Falkirk coal mine and power plants near Underwood provide exceptional tours. For history buffs, the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and Fort Mandan are at Washburn. At the restored Fort Abraham Lincoln near Mandan you can experience the beginning of General Custer's last ride to battle and also be guided through his home. The beautiful city of Bismarck has much to offer - tour the capital building and Heritage Center, ride the Lewis & Clark riverboat, visit the retail and antique malls and many fine area restaurants. At Riverdale you can see the Garrison Dam, tour the powerhouse and adjoining fish hatchery, and fish the beautiful waters of Lake Sakakawea. Local fishing is available on New Johns Lake, part of the McClusky Canal.
