Greenwood Manor Inn sits on 108 acres of lawns, gardens and woodlands at the tip of Long Lake in the forested foothills of Maine's majestic White Mountains. Bear River is just a stone's throw away, and skiing at Shawnee Peak and Sunday River is only a short drive from the Inn.
Greenwood Manor was built in 1870 as a private residence and converted into a bed and breakfast hotel during the late 1980's. Each of seven guest rooms and two suites is located in the carriage house and is uniquely decorated with antiques that serve as a reminder of the home's century-plus heritage. All rooms have private baths and offer spectacular views of the 108-acre estate's perennial gardens as well as the various vistas cast by the White Mountains. Some rooms also have fireplaces, and the new suite has an oversized whirlpool tub.
What once was an old ice house has been converted into a plush den with leather furnishings, a brick fireplace, and television. And if the weather permits, there's nothing better than spending an evening or lazy afternoon out on the inn's spacious covered deck. Guests start the day with a full, home-baked country breakfast served in the spacious dining area or on the covered deck overlooking the gardens.
