Casa de Patron Bed and Breakfast: "A thoughtfully and tastefully run home away from home; every comfort thought of and an artistic treat in every corner." -CA.
Driving down a quiet country road into a wonderfully preserved territorial village, you will come upon a thick walled adobe hacienda called Casa de Patron.
This historic Bed and Breakfast was once the home of Juan Patron, the youngest speaker of the House in the early New Mexican Territorial Legislature. Nestled within the hills of the Rio Bonito Valley, the days of awakening to rowdy cowboys shooting off their Colt .44's are gone; transformed by a stillness, serenity and sense of another place and time. Located on the Billy the Kid Scenic Byway, Casa de Patron is Mobil Guide three star rated.
In the heart of the village, Casa de Patron is surrounded by courtyards with trees, flowers, and the sound of birds everywhere. Come inside this charmed historic home, listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings, and enjoy the high ceilings with hand-hewn vigas, traditional white-washed walls, and mementos of Old Lincolntown and an earlier era. Snuggle up with a book to the crackle of a wood burning fireplace in the Great Room and soak up the history of this oasis. Or ramble through the second courtyard to the Old Trail House with its two spacious rooms, fireplaces, wet bars, and Jacuzzi.
Across the way you will find two little houses (casitas) especially for honeymooners and families, with its own field of native grama grass for wandering and relaxing.
Pull in your reins here for a good night's sleep with the fresh smell of sun-dried linens, as did our most famous house-guest, Billy the Kid.
