It's centrally located in a quiet residential area of Whitehorse in the valley of the Yukon River, and perfect for both vacation and business travellers. Opened in 1995, the Four Seasons B&B offers guests: * spacious bedrooms with queen-size beds * a smoke-free indoor environment * full breakfasts served at the dining table * cooking for special diets such as gluten-free or low-carbohydrate * complimentary snacks and hot beverages * a shared mini-kitchenette, with microwave, fridge, toaster, coffee pot and dishes * 3 minutes' drive, 20 minutes' walk from the downtown Visitor Information Centre and major attractions * 2 minutes' drive, 10-min. walk to hiking trails along the beautiful Yukon River * laundry facilities, including detergent, and Internet/e-mail access at no charge * one block from the city bus route * wheel-chair accessibility (limited) * wood-burning stove in the guest lounge * bicycles which may be borrowed for the afternoon or day * the company of Maggie, our friendly, non-shedding 11-pound/5-kg dog. * off-season discounts October 1 to May 15 Our home is furnished with the comfort of our guests in mind. The Four Seasons B&B meets the needs of travellers who appreciate a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We are ideal for those who don't mind sharing a bathroom with others - three rooms share two full bathrooms - or putting their feet up and enjoying a beverage in the evening. Those who wish to smoke may do so in a sheltered outdoor area. The guest lounge or outdoor deck is a great place to get gear together for your hiking expedition or canoe trip. Forgotten your shampoo? If you are in need of a toothbrush, shampoo or other items, we are happy to provide a selection of complimentary toiletries in the basket located on the stand. A hair dryer is provided for guest use. Facilities at the B&B In addition to your private room, we invite you to use the guest lounge. Relax and plan your activities for tomorrow, watch TV or a movie, or enjoy the company of the other guests. If there are other guests in their rooms, the TV should be turned off by 10 p.m. For your enjoyment, the antique armoire is stocked with complimentary coffee, tea, iced tea, hot chocolate, popcorn and other goodies. The microwave, refrigerator, small appliances and dishes are for guest use. You may store your groceries in the upstairs fridge as well. Laundry facilities - Guests are welcome to do their own laundry at no charge; detergent, stain remover, bleach and such are provided. You may use the machines between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. We have an iron and ironing board. Storage - If you need extra luggage or valuables stored during a wilderness tour, please ask. Telephone - A telephone for guest use is provided in the guest lounge. As is normal in Canada, local calls are free; long distance calls can be made "collect" or charged to inexpensive phone cards available at local stores. If you require privacy please feel free to take the phone into your room. Computer access - A computer is available for all guests to check their e-mail or send a quick message. Safety and recreation - The Four Seasons B&B is located in a very safe neighbourhood. Feel free to go for a walk in the area. We also have two bicycles for guest use. A small forested park with winter skating rink and summer playground is located directly across the street. The Yukon River trail, the Whitehorse Rapids fish ladder and hydro dam, a kayaking area (see super photos), and a skateboard park are only a few blocks away, and trails on the surrounding hills and on Grey Mountain are even closer. Please ask Greg or Lizz or see the Whitehorse City Guide for directions to these wonderful places. Dining out and shopping Dining out - The majority of restaurants are located downtown, a five-minute drive or 22-minute walk from the B&B. Most serve dinner only until 9 or 10 p.m., but a few are open till midnight or 1:00. One franchise sandwich-and-coffee restaurant is open 24 hours a day. Various Chinese and pizza restaurants offer home delivery. Please ask Greg or Lizz for directions and recommendations, and which restaurants offer discounts to our guests. Shopping - A modest supermarket called Super A, open till 10 p.m. daily, is four short blocks away on the corner of Nisutlin Drive and Lewes Blvd. It also sells gasoline. (Click to see a neighbourhood map.) Larger downtown supermarkets are open till 7 or 10 p.m. and cozy Riverside Grocery, which stocks thousands of items, is open till 2 a.m. daily. Your room Each room has a comfortable queen-size bed with good quality sheets and a cozy duvet. Two of our three rooms also include a single bed; a roll-away bed can be added for a fourth person. Rooms are equipped with a clock radio, extra blankets, an electric heater (rarely needed in the summer), bath robes (dressing gowns), towels, soap, and water glasses. If you require something extra, please ask. Guests share two full bathrooms, one downstairs with a shower and one upstairs with a tub. Extra towels for your use at any time are stored on the stand in the downstairs bathroom.
