River Line Inn
204 Broad Street
Riverton, New Jersey

Riverton, New Jersey was founded in 1851 as a resort town for wealthy Main Line Philadelphians to spend their summer months along the Delaware River. The Yacht Club and pier remain as one of the country's oldest active yacht clubs, where, in summer, you can stroll along the banks of the river and watch the sailboats racing on the Delaware. Riverton Borough is on the National Historic Register and stands today as a true example of early country living in the 19th Century. The River Line Bed and Breakfast Inn was built in 1875 and was the home of Mary VanMeter Grice, one of the founding members of the New Jersey State Congress of Mothers, which later became known as the Parent Teachers Association, or PTA. She was also active locally, founding the Historic Porch Club women's association in Riverton, New Jersey, which is still flourishing today
